Join Gurucul (#2407) at RSA in San Francisco this February

Craig D. Kensek
Senior Product Marketing Manager

Visit us at RSA Conference 2017, ‘Where the world talks security’.  RSA is one of the industry’s largest security events. It’s running February 13 through February 17 in San Francisco.  We’ll be in Moscone South Exhibition Hall (booth# 2407 @ RSA 2017).

Identity is a new perimeter and threat plane that needs to be addressed by CIOs, CSOs and CISOs to reduce access risk, protect resources and detect unknown threats.  Identity intersects almost every data source within a company’s IT infrastructure and its importance only increases with cloud adoption.  External threat actors compromise identities to evade detection from existing defenses while insiders fly under the radar to access data for exfiltration.  Analyzing access, activity and alerts with identity-centric behavior analytics provides a new defense for a new perimeter.

The Gurucul Risk Analytics (GRA) platform monitors access risks and user behavior to identify anomalous behavior risks across users, accounts, privileges, applications, and devices. It does this through User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) and Identity Analytics (IdA), machine learning, and peer group modeling.

Did you know that 89% of Organizations Experienced Data Breaches in 2015?  According to a Ponemon Institute Report, that’s the case.  IT Security Guru had an article about how 65% of IT Leaders Expect Serious Data Breach to Hit Their Business Within the Next Year. A substantial number of breaches originated internally, because of hacked individuals, disgruntled employees, or human error. You don’t want your company to be in the press because of a breach.  Our solutions are designed to identify anomalies early, suggesting a breach has occurred and potentially stopping data exfiltration before it happens.

What a name!

What a name!

GURUCUL (goo-roo-cool)

The name Gurucul comes from Sanskrit (गुरुकुल). This word is a contraction of the Sanskrit word ‘guru’ which means teacher or expert and ‘cul’ means extended family or group. In ancient times this was the place of learning. As a security analytics company expertise and learning hold a very special meaning as it reflects in our name.
