LOS ANGELES – Gurucul, the user behavior analytics and identity access intelligence company, today announced that it has expanded its international presence to Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) amid rapidly growing demand in North America and abroad for its products. The company has appointed security industry veteran Craig Stewart to head sales, technical support and business operations.
Gurucul, headquartered in Los Angeles, already has APAC headquarters in Mumbai, India and is expanding to EMEA to address growing demand for its identity-centric user behavior analytics and access intelligence solutions that help organizations detect and deter insider threats, cyber fraud and advanced external attacks. Several Fortune 500 companies in the financial, healthcare, technology, retail and manufacturing sectors have successfully deployed Gurucul Risk Analytics (GRA). Customers include one of the world’s largest Internet payment companies, a top five US health insurer and large financial services firms.
“Gurucul’s expansion into EMEA is a strategic element of our globalization plan as we are seeing pent up demand for user behavior analytics solutions in this market,” said Saryu Nayyar, CEO of Gurucul. “Craig’s track record for building and managing EMEA teams, channel partnerships and the infrastructure to support success will play a pivotal role in establishing Gurucul as a leader in the region.”
Stewart joined Gurucul from cloud security vendor Zscaler, where he was VP EMEA and responsible for enterprise and channel sales as well as business operations. Europe was the most successful region at Zscaler, often producing nearly half of the company’s worldwide quarterly revenues. Previously, he was VP EMEA for web security company Blue Coat Systems Inc., formerly CacheFlow, where his team was responsible for hyper revenue growth and establishing an industry leading two tier channel business. He holds a B.Eng. (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Canterbury, NZ and a Diploma of Company Direction from the Institute of Directors in the UK.
“Gurucul has created a completely new approach for protecting organizations against cyber fraud, insider threats and external intruders based on user behavior analytics and identity access intelligence,” said Craig Stewart. “This is a very exciting new technology that picks up where traditional security tools leave off. The market potential for Gurucul in EMEA is huge. I look forward to expanding our customer base in Europe and growing our operations in the region.”
Gurucul is changing the way enterprises protect themselves against fraud, insider threats and external intruders. The company’s user behavior analytics and identity access intelligence technology uses machine learning and predictive anomaly detection algorithms to reduce the attack surface for accounts, unnecessary access rights and privileges, and identify, predict and prevent breaches. Gurucul technology is used globally by organizations to detect insider fraud, IP theft, external attacks and more. Gurucul is based in Los Angeles.
