Security Industry Veteran Rosanna Pellegrino Joins User Behavior Analytics Leader as VP of Strategic Alliances
LOS ANGELES, CA – Gurucul, the user behavior analytics and identity access intelligence company, today announced its INSIDER Partner Program and the appointment of Rosanna Pellegrino as vice president of strategic alliances, who will manage channel activities. Pellegrino had led channel and alliances programs for Lumeta Corporation, iSight Partners (now FireEye), Qualys and RedSeal Networks. Charter members of the INSIDER Partner Program include Cognizant, Cymbel, Navilogic, Optiv, SeeGee Technologies, Sun Management and Thundercat.
“Gurucul is committed to building long-term relationships with security-oriented channel partners by providing industry-leading incentives as well as the training, sales, marketing and technical support resources they need to succeed,” said Saryu Nayyar, CEO of Gurucul. “Rosanna has the right combination of channel experience, relationships and security industry expertise to build and manage our partner program in order to meet growing demand for our products.”
Gurucul is the leader in Identity Access Intelligence (IAI) and User Behavior Analytics (UBA). The Gurucul GRA platform detects and prevents attacks, by insiders or outsiders, that exploit user identities as a threat surface for compromising data center and cloud apps. It was recently named Best Behavior Analytics/Enterprise Threat Detection platform in the 2016 SC Awards. Gurucul GRA combines IAI to reduce excess access rights and outliers that open the door to phishing and account compromise attacks, and UBA to perform user profiling and behavior anomaly detection to identify account abuse, compromise and suspicious activity.
The Gurucul INSIDER Program enables partners to monetize the shift from prevention to detection-based investments in enterprise security based on machine learning and user behavior analytics. Meanwhile, the IAI capabilities of the Gurucul GRA platform make it easy for service providers to address the shortcomings of legacy identity and access management (IAM) deployments by detecting and eliminating dormant security access risks.
INSIDER Program Overview
The Gurucul INSIDER Program offers partners with a strong industry background in information security the resources they need to successfully implement, maintain and support Gurucul solutions. Program benefits include:
• Sales and Marketing Enablement: enhanced margins, deal registration incentives, joint lead generation resources and branded marketing collateral
• Support: knowledge-based online support, sales engineer technical documentation as well as online and phone support
• Training and Certification
“User Behavior Analytics is moving beyond the early adopter stage with more and more large and midsize enterprises recognizing that identity has become a security perimeter,” said Rosanna Pellegrino. “There’s a lucrative opportunity for partners to capitalize on market demand for Gurucul’s products, which combine UBA and Identity Access Intelligence to both detect and prevent threats, while shrinking the surface accessible to attackers.”

“NaviLogic helps companies in regulated industries, including healthcare, financial services and manufacturing, manage and minimize IT risk,” said Bill Strub CEO and co-Founder of NaviLogic. “Gurucul quickly pulls together and correlates information from disparate systems and provides intelligence on user behavior. This access and speed to information allows clients to quickly respond to threats with pinpoint accuracy.”
“Sun Management is a VAR with a strong focus on carrying emerging or start up technologies in the IT security space. As the first VAR in the world for Palo Alto Networks and one of the first VAR’s for InfoBlox, FireEye and Arista, we have done a good job in selecting successful technologies very early in the lifecycle. Since we only carry 8 products at a time, carrying successful technologies is critical to our success, limiting our quantity increases our focus,” said Jim Vanderzon, CEO of Sun Management. “We chose to partner with Gurucul after our engineering department did a thorough vetting of the current competitive landscape and the market need. We feel Gurucul is an exceptional technology that will help companies and government agencies understand what users are doing on their network, shrink the attack surface and provide much more reliable focus on potential threats inside their network.”
Gurucul is changing the way enterprises protect themselves against insider threats, account compromise and data exfiltration on-premises and in the cloud. The company’s user behavior analytics and identity access intelligence technology uses machine learning anomaly detection and predictive risk-scoring algorithms to reduce the attack surface for accounts, unnecessary access rights and privileges, and to identify, predict and prevent breaches. Gurucul technology is used globally by organizations to detect insider threats, cyber fraud, IP theft, external attacks and more. The company is based in Los Angeles.
