Vishal Salvi, CISO of Infosys accepted the award at the CSO50 Conference + Awards held on February 26-28, 2018, at the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch, Scottsdale, Arizona.
“Infosys is blazing new information security paths for other companies to follow,” said Saryu Nayyar, CEO of Gurucul. “We are extremely pleased that Infosys and our other client were recognized for their work and innovative application of Gurucul’s user and entity behavior analytics technology.”
Infosys, a global leader in consulting, technology and next-generation services, and its CISO Vishal Salvi were honored for the company’s thought leadership, implementation and operationalization of Gurucul’s Behavior-based Security and Risk Analytics platform as a part of its Global Cyber Defense Center (CDC).
This initiative enabled Infosys to leverage advanced security analytics beyond traditional SIEM policies, to predict and detect unknown threats in their environment as well as reduce false positives and operational overhead with risk-prioritized alerts. It was a significant step forward in protecting the company’s IP as well as customer data, providing a high level of security assurance. As a part of the program’s roadmap, Infosys plans to focus on malware and IoT analytics to detect lateral movement and unidentified threats from end-point infrastructure devices.
“Amid the seemingly constant stream of news-making security breaches, vulnerabilities introduced by new technologies and increased attention from company boards, today’s security leaders have their plates more than full,” said Amy Bennett, executive editor of CSO. “They and their teams are charged not only with protecting their organization’s critical systems and sensitive data, but with driving business results. Our annual CSO50 awards shine a light on projects that enhance an organization’s security posture and also deliver measurable ROI. We are pleased to give them the recognition they deserve.”
