Role Summary

Gurucul is seeking a Technical Manager to lead and mentor multiple development teams responsible for building and delivering scalable software products. This role oversees day-to-day development activities, drives architectural decisions, and ensures engineering best practices are followed to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives.
The position collaborates closely with product owners and technical leads to define roadmaps, guide technical direction, and ensure timely delivery of new features. The Technical Manager also promotes continuous improvement, supports innovation, and ensures products are scalable, reliable, and secure while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 15-20 developers spread across 3-4 scrum teams, fostering a  collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Closely take care of the development and delivery of web-based software product using  Java and Angular.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in software engineering, including Agile methodologies  and Scrum framework.
  • Drive architectural decisions based on strong technical knowledge.
  • Critically evaluate solutions to business problems brought forward by team / tech leads.
  • Guide team to build scalable and robust software products.
  • Drive deployment and architectural decisions.
  • Collaborate with the product owner team to define product roadmaps and ensure timely delivery  of new features.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting continuous  learning and growth.
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of cloud-based SaaS and on prem deployed  products.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12+ years of experience in software development and team leadership.
  • Proven track record of leading teams of 15-20 developers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands on expertise in Java, Angular, Big Data, and cloud-based SaaS product development.
  • Good understanding of architecture of software products.
  • Understanding of Spring Framework and Hibernate JPA.
  • Experience with Dev Ops, Application security.
  • Good understanding of NLP, AI, and ML spectrum.
  • In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
